Sustainability is in the DNA of OPENAX business strategy, shaping the approach we take towards environment, society, and our own governance in support of a just energy transition and is vital to the company’s Purpose of advancing a sustainable energy future for all.
Our sustainability strategy, updated in early 2024, sets out three strands for the actions we take: planet, people, and principles.
The strategy embraces key topics such as integrity, health and safety, human and worker rights, diversity and inclusion, ethical behavior, stakeholder and community engagement, and environment – everything that contributes to being a responsible corporate citizen while remaining a profitable, resilient, and sustainable business.
Transparency and accountability are central to the implementation of our strategy and our approach to disclosure.

In early 2024 we revised our sustainability strategy in alignment with our OPENAX 2030 business approach and embedded global and stakeholder requirements. This newly updated strategy is derived from an extensive materiality exercise, international industry trends, benchmarks, and legislation. It also integrates stakeholders’ perspectives and priorities, which was consolidated in our Material Impact Assessment 2023.
This included updating our high-impact commitments and top targets as set out in our Sustainability 2030 strategy. Our sustainability efforts align with leading protocols and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) .
Our DNA strands for action mirror sustainability’s approach to environmental, social and governance performance (ESG), also building on the wider corporate social responsibility (CSR) discipline. Within each strand, we have top targets underpinned by a series of internal key performance indicators (KPIs) to which all parts of OPENAX contribute.

Sustainability is the foundation for today’s leading global framework for international cooperation—the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In June 2022, environmental leaders from around the world met to take stock of where we've been and where we are heading, with the goal of galvanizing momentum for the UN Decade of Action for achieving the SDGs.
With the implementation of the SDGs, OPENAX seeks to ensure that the share of renewable energies in the global energy mix is significantly increased, that the availability of electricity can be realized worldwide with new PV technologies, and that a large proportion of the raw materials used are fully recycled as well as processed in a way that conserves resources. Having great confidence and a sense of responsibility for its products, OPENAX offers a full warranty on panels for the 30-year term of the contract with IPTO.
The products are designed and manufactured, using top quality materials and adhering to all safety protocols under the strictest European Technical Specifications.
The panels of OPENAX are manufactured according to the most state-of-the-art and strict global and European specifications. Using shingled technology and construction quality that prevents Micro-Cracks, the company guarantees the long-term performance of photovoltaic panels with high resistance to wind pressure, snow load, dust, fire, salt and chemical corrosion. According to IEC 61215, IEC 61730, CE, IEC 62716 AMMONIA and IEC 61701 Salt Mist standards.
The OPENAX Inverters comply with the highest protection index (IP65/IP66) and safety standards. They have protection against electric shock, fire and mechanical hazards according to the IEC/EN 62109-1-2 standard. In addition, they have protection against the islanding effect and Electromagnetic Compatibility Certification, having passed the tests according to the IEC/EN 61000 standard.
The range of Batteries OPENAX have protection and safety certifications after having passed the tests according to global and European standards IEC62619, IEC60730, IEC62040, CE and UN38.3.
